Even after I moved to Alvin 10 years ago I have found Westbury more reliable and actually more reasonable for similar services than the Alvin vets. I have had to utilize the emergency services several times. ( more than I wish I had). Each time they have been overwhelming considerate and attentive. Doctor has always been there when I call to say I am on way in. Knowing someone is there 24/7 to watch the patients is important to me. They are our routine vets as well as the emergency ones. I recommend them highly.”

“I love this place! Very old fashioned - meaning, they care for your pets and not you wallet. I went in with 3 (2 dogs and a cat) and was only charged for one office visit. I was there for vaccinations and a general 'once over' and the vet was great. Not only did he vaccinate them, he also noticed bumps on my dogs muzzle and said 'oh look - he has pimples...lets just take care of those...' and he popped each and every one of them as he explained to me how he may have gotten them and how to avoid them again. And they never came back! Yes, he was slow and methodical but would you rather have a vet check your pet out in lightening speed and misdiagnose something or miss something altogether??? He will only treat if necessary...and they are not big on pumping your pet full of drugs...they TREAT THEM. And as for Mrs. Shaw's attitude - just because she wasn't bubbly doesn't mean she isn't nice. I love the lady! And as for the 'run down' appearance - so what! That just means you aren't being charged outrageous fees to pay for glitz and glam overhead.”

“I found one injured Ruby-throated hummingbird at University campus. It's left wing was broken and was heavily dehydrated and couldn't fly or move. I searched for a bird rescue center. I called all of them but none worked. Then I just went to Wildlife Center of Texas and a person at the main entrance showed me the way to the bird rescue center. I handed them this beautiful bird to them. The person at the front desk was very kind and friendly. Save birds. Thank you.”
