My grandson has been at ymac for 35 days. The judge advised him he was placing him there for further education. That he could get his GED there. In the 35 days he has been there have been no GED classes. Most all of the inmates are felons except my grandson. He informed me that someone started a fire in the restroom. He has been picked on pretty much all the time. It does not appear that a lot of the inmates care about nothing but getting a soft place to serve heir time. My grandson has had difficulty getting his medication. He has been diagnosed by his psychiatrist with acute depression. He was on medication until he entered ymac. There is a procedure you must go through in order to be seen by a doctor. He really doesn't understand it. He should be able to tell them about his condition not go through procedures. There are laws requiring inmates to receive medical treatment. Is the Harris County Handbook simply a compilation of words with no regard to adherence. I hope not. These are my views based on information from my grandson only. I have no other frame of reference. I do not have enough information Respectfully submitted. Woody W. I do not have enough information to submit an educated rating so I gave 4 stars.

281-459-8000 There are two programs there. Do you know if he is in the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility - SATF - Atascocita or the Young Men About Change (YMAC) program? I believe there is not much difference between the two except the age of the men but there are descriptions online about both. My first visit experience was AWESOME!
