These are the nicest, people I've met in this city in a long time. They were helpful, kind and their thrift store has the best bargains anywhere. I love this place and the people running the thrift store are extremely helpful. The ones who come and pick up donations are very professional as well as respectful to everyone. When we spoke to them, they were courteous, patient and kind. I have enjoyed all my experiences with them.
We had been trying to donate some appliances and furniture for a while, but every place would either not show up when they were supposed to, or they'd not want one or more of the items we were donating. I submitted an online request to Harbor Ministries, and received a call the next morning. We set a date for pickup. They called that day several times so I was aware of when they'd be here, and they cleared out everything in very little time. Their crew was polite and helpful, and I wouldn't hesitate to donate anything they could use to them in the future.
I called YESTERDAY and Harbor Ministries scheduled me TODAY! I can’t say enough good things about this organization. From the very first phone call to the very end this was a very friendly interaction! Brandon and Mike were so professional, so kind and so grateful for my furniture. They called to confirm this morning they called before they came. I was the very last appointment so they had been working all day picking up donations of furniture. Yet still they were in a great mood they were kind, they were funny, they were great, and my couch was not easy to move office second-floor apartment! Needless to say I have several other pieces I’m going to gather and they’re gonna come back out and get them and I’m thrilled to know that a family will appreciate my furniture!
I set up time for them pick up my used furniture and kitchenware. I actually set an appointment online with another charity to pickup and they never showed or followed up. So definitely go with harbor ministry!!! They were the best. They called me the week prior, the day before and 20 minutes before arrival to confirm appointment pick up. Also easy to reach them by phone if i had a question. Every person a spoke to was welcoming, kind and eager to help. They took all my gently used furniture except a few where my puppy chewed on the furniture. They were patient, detailed, organized, friendly and quick in loading up. I will use them again.
