This post is specifically about the staff. I don't know who hires these women, but they are fabulous, especially Alexandra. I've been going here since I was probably 10 or so, and I'm now 23. My entire family also goes there, including my 4-year-old nephew (with whom Dr. Grilli is great, by the way; he did a entire check up with my nephew standing up because he refused to lie down on the examining chair). Anyway, over the years, we've had great interactions with his staff, but none more so than Alexandra. She truly cares about the patients and listens to them. I just received the sweetest handwritten card from her congratulating me on an upcoming event. Now, I know some businesses will write generic "happy birthday" cards, but this was different. In it, she talked about things my mother had told her about my event and even about things my nephew said. I already liked Dr. Ilustre, but her sweet gesture sealed the deal. I'm moving to a new city in a few months, and I will still make the hourslong trek down to come to this practice.
My daughters have seen Dr. Grilli for almost 3 years (since they were 3 and 5). They have both had fillings and have their regular cleanings done at his office. My oldest needed a crown as well. All of our experiences with Dr. Grilli and his staff have been great. I appreciate that parents are allowed to remain with their children in the back during any cleanings and procedures. We have had several regular visits where they did not take x-rays because he saw nothing to warrant them, so I do not believe he takes unnecessary images. He does move really quickly, which I think is great because it's difficult for kids to hold their mouths open for long periods of time and also bore easily. Both of my children LIKE going to the dentist, which is hard to believe but speaks to their positive experiences going. Dr. Grilli and the staff always interact with my children and make them smile. The kids get to pick a small toy out after their appointment. It's a nice dentist office for children. I have recommended them to my family and friends.
Dr. Grilli is a fantastic dentist with a great staff who have been nothing but wonderful with our son. It is always hard to know why people's experiences are what they are but we have never had a problem with communication or treatment.
As an example, my son had to have some pretty serious work done when he was 6 or 7 (WE allowed too much candy...) and Dr. Grilli was completely open to us being in the treatment room and deciding on how best to manage our son's anesthesia. This is a really big deal for me as we had talked to other dentist who wanted to take our son and do their treatments without us being in the room. That's a show-stopper for me. Dr. Grilli welcomed our presence.
The only thing that might help here is that he is very open with communication and his time BUT you have to ask. I can see him doing his work and appearing to move on if the parents do not engage him. We have never felt rushed or brushed off when we talked to him about our son's teeth, what he was doing or what he wanted us to do between visits.
They are absolutely fabulous. Out of network for our family but I'll gladly pay the extra because they treat my kids so very well. Unlike Dr. Escue and his staff off of Fuqua in Southeast Houston.
Dr. Grilli is wonderful with my 2 girls (3 & 5) they love him and his staff! The office is wonderful and keeps the kiddos busy. They're always excited to go see him
