Only reason I haven’t given this place 5 stars is because I felt a lot of the smoothies were overpriced compared to many other smoothie places I’ve been to, and that the parking lot next to the cafe was filled with potholes.”

“Went here recently for the first time. Nice place. Nice bar area and a large selection of Italian wines. I asked for something off menu and they were very accommodating. They had a live pianist playing but unfortunately the house music system was playing as well. We asked about it and was told that the manager was the only one with access to the house system and he could not be found. Kind of disconcerting to say the least.”

“If you don't know what Starbucks is then you have been in a very long coma. Go ahead and order a triple shot venti of whatever kind of coffee you like. You've been sleeping a long time so it's time to create some balance in your life. This Starbucks is a nice, neighborhood style one frequented heavily by students doing homework/studying and folks like the free wifi. Its very fast during the rush, but on a lazy Sunday expect to wait a few minutes if you go inside. The drive through always goes fast.”

“It's exciting to see that Houston is finally following the trend of having animal cafe's. This cozy place is perfect for any feline lover, as the prices are somewhat reasonable at $10/hr for an adult. The cafe is somewhat small, but feels quaint and cozy. Due to its size, reserving ahead of time is most recommended. As for the cats, I highly recommend going on the weekday, if possible. On the weekends, they've received more than their fair share of attention, so petting them and playing with them can be somewhat of a struggle against their lazy nature. Furthermore, I'd really wish the $10 entrance fee included a few cat treats to entice our feline friends, as this is what many cat cafes abroad do. However, for a first iteration, I'm happy to see that the El Gato coffeehouse offers a wide range of activities including book clubs, yoga, and movie nights with the cats. I hope this will encourage other animal cafes to pop up eventually. P.S. The coffee was actually pretty decent!”

“I can't believe I pass by Angel's so often but just visited for my firs time yesterday! These were the best churros that I have ever eaten. They were fried to order, so they were sitting around under a heat lamp all day. My order was crispy, fresh, and had a wonderful aroma due to the sugar and spices. Powered sugar and cinnamon are added to order, plus I used my choice of dipping sauce. I decided on chocolate, but I know that I'll try the raspberry on my next visit.”
