“If not for the Star of Hope I would still be dead in spirit, blind to the gospel, crippled, and uneducated. I crawled to the Star of Hope in Sept. 2010, a 9th grade drop-out, crippled hands, a non-believer, drunk and high on crack. Today, March 3, 2019. I am a leader in my church, my hands endured a series of surgeries, and I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Corporate Communications. All of the above obtained while at the Star of Hope Men's Development Center. Do not listen to the negative talk. If you want it, God will provide however, you need to get out of your bunk and show up. Enough of me. During the many years I have been blessed at SOH, I have witnessed many men start a new life with God. Many men have been able to reconcile with their families, employers and life in general. The residents are all so happy and are so busy doing fun and exciting thing. “My mother and I moved my grandmother into the assisted living section of spring cypress this week. My grandmother has Alzheimer’s dementia and due to her current ability to remember she was reluctant to go due to. Both my mother and I thought the move would be VERY difficult but we were proved wrong. The team at spring cypress is fantastic! Everyone in every position at spring cypress went out of their way to make my grandmother feel comfortable. You would never know that they just opened up to the public within the last two months. With being so new they are definitely ready for the masses to move in. They are also very open to feed back and they will fix any issue that might arise immediately if you bring it to their attention. The decor throughout the whole facility is beautiful. The food is gourmet and delicious. My grandmothers first lunch was shrimp on fettuccine with garlic bread and hot peach cobbler for dessert. It looked like it should have been on a cover of cooking light. I was even impressed with Theresa, who is the dinning room attendant. Theresa was very pleasant, accommodating, and patient. She took the time to get down to eye level of each person to ask them what they would like to drink. Very impressive. The activities we witnessed while there looked right on par. In the morning we saw an exercise class where they were using beach balls, and the next day they were stretching with bands. They even played corn hole, but had them seated. Lastly, we loved that for every meal and activity a member of the staff walks around to all the rooms to offer the activity or to take them to dinner. This was truly a wow moment when we realized we were not going to have to worry.”

“Scott is a pharmacist at this location and I want to express my gratitude for his assistance. I suffer from a thyroid condition that for most is easily treated, but for me it has been 3 years of experiments with almost every prescription on the market. In desperation I reached out to Scott asking for help researching the ingredients of the only two I haven’t tried, hoping to find one that I will work for me since I am allergic to fillers in each I have tried previously.
