“I contacted Good News Roofing at the recommendation of a neighbor who had their roof replaced by them. After putting in a request for a roof inspection, I was promptly contacted by Scott who scheduled a home visit for a free inspection. When Scott arrived, he was very professional in introducing himself and made it easy to understand the purpose of his initial visit. After assessing our roof, we were promptly sent a quote explaining everything that would be done and also informing us that no payment was due until after service was complete! We eventually accepted the contract and waited for work to begin. During this time, Scott kept us updated on the status of the shingles and when our color was ready and in stock, we were scheduled for the roof replacement. The crew who showed up were very polite and professional. They arrived early and began working right away and made sure that I knew where debris would be so that my family could be safe entering and leaving the house. A short while later, we were told that there were significantly more problems with the roof than initially anticipated. Unfortunately, during the inspection, it’s hard to see what problems will be under the shingles, and as it turns out, previous homeowners had covered up an improper flashing job around our chimney, leading to significant wood rot. Scott reassured me that we would only have to pay for additional materials and labor to get the job done right and worked to keep the price increase as low as possible. The crew foreman did an incredible job of explaining what he had to do to make it right, and also explained that it could’ve easily been covered up in the name of making a profit, but would’ve left us with problems down the road and neither his crew nor Good News Roofing operate like that. What was initially supposed to be a relatively simple roof job turned into a long day of work and they had to make many trips for extra supplies to get it done right. I never once heard anyone complaining, in fact, they were apologetic to us for the job taking longer than anticipated. In the end, we were left with a beautiful roof which has been properly repaired and I can sleep easy at night knowing the roof over my family’s head is secure. I cannot say enough great things about this company or the crew that was out, and if you ever need a quote or roof work, highly recommend you give Scott at Good News Roofing a call!”

“This review is long overdue. We have been with Rocking Horse Academy for over 6 years now and couldn't have found a better place to send our kids to. Throughout the years there has been a lot of change around us, however Mrs. Rebecca and Miss Marissa have always been the same. They have such a great staff and are always willing to go the extra mile when it comes to making you feel at ease. Of course there are always challenges with growing kids and new teachers, but I've always been able to voice my concerns with the Administration and feel like action is always taken with the children's best interest at heart. Even through COVID this place remained in constant contact with us and helped us get through all the challenges of not having immediate care. Thankfully, they were so strict with protocols that the school was only closed once! To say that we have made life long friends here is an understatement! We truly are grateful for Rocking Horse!”

“We stayed here for 4 days/3nights. I didn't realize that this is a 2 story house in which you rent the top floor. The owners were on the bottom floor and I felt bad because I have a very noisy toddler. The home is nice and extremely close (walking distance) to the Blue Hole. The Blue Hole park is beautiful. We saw multiple deer and squirrels near the house. The house is nicely furnished, clean and well maintained. They provided enough bath amenities, Keurig coffee and tea was also provided. Kitchen was well stocked. Knives were sharp and pans were nice. Beds were comfortable. Water is soft. The house had a balcony with chairs and a small table that overlooked the backyard and creek. The backyard backs up to a small creek that has small fish. Very pretty property and area. This property would be a five star property if it had a clothes washer and dryer and if they provided more washcloths. We only had 2 washcloths for 3 people for our entire stay.”

“I been in many homes & boys ranches, this is the best by far, a recipe with the perfect ingredients & mixture very patient and caring staff with teaching of responsibility little ruff love exploring nature as the boys rebuild their Heart and souls, I'm living proof it works. I was 14 then I'm 55 now 41 years later still puts a lump in my throat in a soft spot in my heart when I think about Darden Hills Boys Ranch, it's truly amazing and unbelievable how two people had a dream in their heart and took their land and turn it in to something for hundreds and hundreds of children to benefit from and devoted their whole lives making a difference in young children lies teaching them to grow love and be caring adults I don't know how to describe them there's no words for Rose and Charlie as there are thoughts and beliefs and they're teaching lasted me a lifetime as I have seven foster kids myself, I have so many wonderful stories about the ranch as of a lot of the other boys that was there in my time, not sure how they did it they handpicked each and every staff member and they was all great of course when you're a young kid it don't seem so great when you don't get your way lol but nevertheless it was a truly great experience and a part of my childhood that brings me happy memories. “I'm not one that stays at RV parks. I prefer natural areas. But, while traveling through TX we needed a place to stay for the night. We meet some nice people here. The sites are. at least ours was true to advertised very level and far more spacious than the online map. With pull through sites and full hookups. The restrooms and showers were immaculate. The pool was clean. They have a very nice man made lake that is tranquil and perfect for kayaking. The grounds and amenities were pristine. Good experience. We would stay again.”
