“Short Version Review: This place is amazing! We are extremely fortunate to have found the Academy of Okinawan Karate (AOK). We've now been enrolled for one year now and look forward to several more years. My kids are inspired and have experienced tremendous growth mentally and physically. Long-ish Version Review: Very few opportunities, like the one that presented itself to us when we first walked into the Academy of Okinawan Karate, come around in a person's life. The founder of Okinawan Shuri-Ryu karate was Grand-Master Robert Trias (Tenth Degree Black Belt). He founded the first karate school in the mainland United States and was one of the first known American Black Belts, but has since passed away. Shihan Joseph Walker (9th degree black belt), owner and operator of the Academy of Okinawan Karate, was trained directly by Grandmaster Robert Trias. He has been teaching Okinawan Shuri Ryu Karate for over 40 years. He is a great man and a great teacher. Everyone here is like family and makes each new member feel comfortable. Opportunities to train under someone of this caliper NEVER happens. Finding someone like Shihan Walker and the AOK in a little town, like Burleson, Texas is analagous to finding a pearl in an oyster. Go get your free lesson and meet Shihan. He's one of a kind, as is AOK.”

“I work with children with Autism and asked Tiffany to cut hair for a client who gets very upset during haircuts. She had so much patience!! She was able to give him a great haircut despite some tears and him sitting in my lap for part of it. I appreciated her excitement to work with my clients and her willingness to be flexible. She will now be cutting my clients’ hair regularly. If you have a child who is hypersensitive and struggles during haircuts, take them to Tiffany!”

“when i was 12 years old i got my first set of braces. and of course like any other kid, i didn’t listen to the professionals and refused to wear my rubber bands and retainer. i had an open bite from sucking my thumb as a kid and my bite was never corrected because i didn’t wear my rubber bands. this caused me to get a second set of braces when i became an adult. i was told by several orthodontics that i would have to have my jaw surgically broken to correct my bite. my mother and i didn’t want to have to have surgery just to fix my teeth. we reached out to Anderson Orthodontics to get a third opinion.Dr. Anderson’s first solution was to put mini screws in my mouth instead of breaking my jaw. we started the process of getting my braces and he thought we should start off with bands first to see if we could get any results before putting mini screws in my mouth. spoiler alert! THEY WORKED! turns out if you actually listen to your dentist and wear your bands you will see results very quickly! i just got my braces off today after 2 years of hard work! my bite is fully corrected and i have a perfect smile all with no surgery!! i couldn’t thank Dr. Anderson and his team enough for the dedication and patience they had with my teeth.
