Mr. Pittman's Jui-Jitsu Academy for Brazilan Jiu-Jitsu is for me and others in my family a way to relive stress. When you first come in its very intimidating to see people doing very complex techniques and even after doing it for a year i still feel stressed about learning the technique that Mr. Pittman or any of the other instructor will be teaching when i come in. But after getting dressed, saying the esprit de corp and stretching i think in my head: lets do this. it is very easy to release your stress when you are rolling on the mat and not having to think about the outside world and then the sparring really gets your adrenaline running. Besides Mr. Pittman (and the other instructors) teaching Jiu-Jitsu, they also teach discipline, how to give 100%, not to give up and so much more. I will admit that starting out i do not want to go to Jiu-Jitsu, i would rather lay around and play video games like any other teenager. Only thing is if I chose to not go once i might stop coming at all. And that is where Mr Pittman Teaching Self Disciple really helps.

I will Recommend to anyone who reads this to Go to Mr. Pittman's Jui-Jitsu Academy for Brazilan Jiu-Jitsu and try it for a couple of lessons.

I would like to thank Mr. Pittman and all of his employees for all the hard work they do at the Academy. whether it be as a teacher, or as a friend giving advice. And Especially thank you Mr. Pittman for teaching me and my family how to do Jiu-Jitsu.

Quality - the best - and I am not an employee. I've studied in a variety of settings under some of the BJJ greats: Rigan and Roger Machado in Pasadena, CA from whom I received my blue belt; Renzo Gracie and Rich Latta in Hatfield, Pennsylvania from whom I received my purple belt; Paul Bush, Fernando Yamasaki, Leesburg, VA from whom I received my brown; Tony Passos (De La Riva Black Belt) in Sterling, VA; and various other seminars - including some time at Gracie Barra in Rio. I moved to Lubbock and was excited to study under Prof Pittman from whom I received my black belt. From my experience - Pittman is well-known in the BJJ community as a master strategist which conveys through the excellence of his teaching. You can't go wrong here and if you stick with it, you'll rapidly excel in your BJJ game. Everyone posting has an experience of the academy - and opinion - Mine is this: We've got something special here in Lubbock at Pittman's BJJ.

I’m always skeptical about things because that’s just who I am. We wanted my three year old to learn discipline and structure. I would have never thought of joining. Well I gave it a try and I love it!!! We all actually love it! It relieves stress and I can actually do everything that is taught. I thought it was a crazy scam that I was drug into, but it’s not, I have learned enough in the month that I have been there to actually be able to do something if needed, from arm bar to choke hold, to getting out of choke hold. I learned those three things. I’m excited to learn more... Be determined and come focused and you’ll do GREAT!
They treat you like family. Come by and give it a try!
