Dr. Sergiy Nesterenko, MD

Dr. Nesterenko went above and beyond in taking care of my husband. He genuinely cares about his patients first and foremost. He actually suggested we try an alternative deep steroid shot before doing surgery which meant we had to see another doctor, and if the shot worked, Dr.Nesterenko would have have lost money due to no surgery or post surgical care. The shot didn’t work, and Dr. Nesterenko had my husband scheduled for surgery within the week. Post surgical results are amazing! We couldn’t have been any happier!

Dr. Nesterenko is utterly amazing! When I was referred to him, I presented with a multitude of quite complicated problems. I had multiple MRIs, multiple EMGs, two CTs and x-rays. Each specialist had a differing opinion based on the images. When Dr. Nesterenko walked in, I pointed to the computer monitor and asked: "Can you make sense of all this?" He looked at me very sympathetically and said: "Well... let's do it together." This is the kind of person and surgeon he is. He proceeded to go through the images and tests, explaining the problems with each one. He took out his pen and drew a diagram. He said: "I want you to think of me as a sniper. I'm going to take a precise shot. If I can't get that shot, I'm not going to take it." After one more MRI, he walked into the exam room and thanked me for doing that, and thus giving him a better picture. No doctor, specialist, surgeon, etc., has ever thanked me for anything. Again, this the kind of person he is. He explained to me that he could do a discectomy between C5-C6 with a fusion and he made certain that I understood perfectly the percentages for a good recovery. Before I agreed to go ahead with it, I asked him: "Doctor, do you have your precise shot?" His face lit up and he said: "Yes, I do!" I had the surgery a week later. It went beautifully and the recovery is going very well, too!
I cannot thank Dr. Nesterenko and his team enough. He is an amazing person and an amazing surgeon!

Everything about my back surgery was wonderful! Dr.Nesterenko, his PA’s and nurses were kind, thoughtful and caring. When I went to Dr. Nesterenko I was in severe pain, couldn’t walk very far before the pain made it almost impossible to go on. After my surgery I am no longer in pain! I would definitely recommend Dr. Nesterenko to anyone in need of a spinal surgery.

Dr. Nesterenko always explained everything in detail, and his surgical skills are the very best. He and the PA Edwin gave me the best of care and answered all of my questions. The results of my back surgery are great. The surgical team was the best I've encountered.

Dr. Nesterenko is a great doctor. He listens carefully and takes his time. His PA and entire staff are so kind and respond quickly to every call. I’m so grateful to have found him. I was unable to walk because of my back and he got me scheduled with my surgery quickly and the surgery went smoothly. I came from Midland to see him and I would go further just to be treated by him!
