I was told by a different doctor six months ago that my foot issue (hallucinations rigidus) required surgery within the year or it would get so bad that the surgery would be MUCH worse. I’m so thankful that he wasn’t Tier I on my insurance, as it forced me to get a second opinion from Dr. Blevins yesterday. He could have so easily agreed with the other doctor after I told him about it. But instead he discouraged me from choosing surgery. He spent a great deal of time discussing other ideas that I should try first. It was one of the best, most comfortable conversations I’ve ever had with a doctor. It didn’t feel rushed, as it so often feels with too many doctors these days. I’m so glad I’ve found Dr. Blevins and will trust him to continue to guide me if the alternatives to surgery we discussed do not work!
