Silver Dollar Customs

On 6/19/23 I brought two vehicles into Silver Dollar Customs, a 1956 Buick Roadmaster and a 1969 Ford fastback Mustang. The Buick came in on a flatbed car hauler, the Mustang was driven in by myself. The Mustang was going to have the rollbar pulled, Louvers, rear spoiler, and a shaker hood scoop to be ordered and installed along with the rear coilovers. The Buick was a full restoration at that time $10,000 was made as a down payment to get a look over the Mustang, make a parts list and to also start a list for the Buick full restoration. On that same day, Jason Moore and Larry Sanders looked over and compiled a parts list for the Mustang, and the parts were ordered. On 6/20/23 $10,000 payment. On 6/22/23 I and Gary Deming spoke about a 427 stroker engine that Gary was in possession of he offered to sell it to me for $15,000 as a running starting engine able to drop into the Mustang attach the transmission and other minor motor parts to complete the engine and it will be able to start and run and drive off. On 6/27/23 I made a down payment of $20,000 of which $15,000 was for the 427 stroker motor and $5,000 was for the work to start on the Buick. On 6/22/23 invoice# 865 was generated for the offloading of the Buick for tire and trash removal and vacuuming of the Buick that did not happen. Work performed from 6/22 through 6/29/23 generated invoice# 872 for the Mustang and invoice# 876 for the Buick, both invoices were generated on 6/29/23. On 6:30 23 invoice number 876 was generated for work performed on the 56 Buick. The work performed was for tires that were taken from an employee's yard and refurbished to put on the Buick and was charged for tire disposal tire mount tire dismount and valve stems things that were not done. Around 7/3/23 a "donor Mustang" was delivered via a car hauler, it was to be cleaned and dismantled and the interior was to be pulled to replace the interior in the 69 Mustang. Work performed from 7/3/23 through 7/12/23 generated invoice# 881. They said work on this invoice was performed and it was not. The donor Mustang is in the same shape as when it was delivered. On or about 7/20/2023 I drove my 1970 Cuda to have the transmission rebuilt, coilovers, and front suspension installed. On 7/21/23 invoice # 896 was generated for parts for the purple Cuda. On 8/1/23 invoice# 902 was generated for work done on the purple Cuda. The transmission for the Cuda was never rebuilt. On 8/9/23 invoice# 909 was generated for part for the 69 Mustang. Work performed 8/3/23 through 8/10/23 generated invoice# 910 for the 1970 Cuda. On 8/11/23 invoice#912 was generated for the credit card processing fee of 3.5% for the prior invoice# 910. Work performed from 8/10/23 through 8/16/23 generated invoice# 915 for work performed on the 1970 Cuda. On 8/16/ after several attempts to get the 427 stroker motor running properly and being sent to the dyno shop the motor still was not working properly I decided I was going to buy my own motor through Summit. I instructed Silver Dollar to take the $15, 000 for the 427 stroker motor and put it towards the build on the 1970 purple Cuda. Meanwhile, several times throughout this entire process, I asked about when the Mustang was going to be worked on and when the Buick was going to be worked on and I was always told this week, this week, this week then finally around 8/20/23, I decided that I was pulling my vehicles, the red Mustang the donor Mustang, and the Buick I asked for all of my parts. After another week of my car not being worked on I sent a wrecker for the purple Cuda and the balance of my parts and asked that my money be returned to me. As of this day 10/20/23, there has not been any money returned to me. The total amount that I paid was $34,518.30. of that, $15,357.18 is due back to me part for the 427 stroker motor, the other in the amount of $1,412.37 for services charge that was not performed. ANYONE THAT HAS BEEN HERE SHOULD GO BACK THROUGH THEIR INVOICES.

I have recently had two minor and one major repair at Midas in Dulles. On each occasion I met with David Glennie who explained exactly what the problem was and fixed it right. Thus I’ve come to trust Dave’s recommendations and intend to continue doing business with him. I feel comfortable referring my friends to him as well. It has taken me many years to find an honest and dependable auto service that I can trust. So far, so good..

Professional Shop. First time customer. 1985 CJ7 Exhaust. Header and intake manifold gaskets replaced. Job completed within estimated cost and well within the time span provided. Gary and his crew are a great group. Will be going back as a return customer if and as required for repairs on CJ7 that I prefer not to do, especially in 100 degree temperatures. Shark does fantastic custom painting on vehicles.5 star rating with my experience.

Most of the time, at least I've found, mechanics and shops can be rude, impatient, and condescending towards customers. After all, they really don't need business from each and every customer. They'll be fine without you. But Dave at this Midas shop blew those stereotypes away. He was polite, timely, helpful, fair and went the extra mile to make sure the job was done right. He got me in the first time for a exhaust system install on my truck. He made sure he spent the extra time aligning the tips so they were perfect. I went back to install shocks and a few other small modifications. He was very helpful and charged me a very reasonable rate. A week later I had trouble with a torqued down bolt I needed removed to install some tow hooks. I called him up to see if he could help and he had me drive right over. I pull in and he takes the truck directly on the lift. Gets the bolts out in 5 minutes. He said no charge but I gave him $20 for his time and his service. Great guy and great shop. I'd recommend seriously considering this shop for any work you may need done.

Wednesday the 27th I was pulling in to the post office when my car stalled and wouldn't start. It was cold and rainy after a hour and a half and many people passing only one woman asked me if she could help unfortunately she had no jumper cables nor did I. I don't know anyone here I could have called. And now my phone needed to be charged. If your familiar where the Azle post office is then you'll know there's not much around. As its dark now I see a man locking the gate and get in his truck. So I went across the street tapped on his window and asked him if he could help me with a jump and he said yes. He works at Silver Dollar Customs I believe his name is Jeremy. Thank you for taking time after a day of working all day. So in the freezing rain you got my car to start. I'd like to tell you again how deeply I appreciate the help you gave me.
