Boo Ray's of New Orleans

Awesome! I'm a big fan of Cajun food. This restaurant did not disappoint. My favorite dish at this restaurant is the gumbo. The gumbo was a little to salty but I loved it. I also loved the crab cakes. The parking lot is free and spacious. There was plenty of parking. This is a family restaurant. The restaurant was very clean and organized. I loved the music. The music gave me the feeling of being in New Orleans. This restaurant has a great atmosphere. I felt very welcome. The greeter at the front door of the restaurant was very welcoming. We didn't have to wait long and were seated promptly. The server we had was awesome and very attentive. He was very knowledgeable of the menu items and even helped to suggest items we should try. My favorite cocktail at this restaurant is the New Orleans HURRICANE. My daughter said she simply loved the cheese burger she ordered it had a smoked taste and she said she loved it. She said mom that burger was so good I want to come back just so I can order that burger again.

Service was excellent the decor is awesome. The seafood platter is the way to go it's a lot of food my husband and I ended up splitting it and still having leftovers!
I recommend the potato casserole, but the mac and cheese was just basic could have used some seasoning and not overcooking the noodles. Maybe it would be better as a baked mac and cheese where the cheese later on the top like mama used to make :)

Hubby and I went to Boo Ray's for the first time Friday night. It was busy, but a steady busy. The atmosphere was fun, but it seemed unfinished to me. Like one room was purple with beads and chandeliers. The room we were in looked like an old school cafeteria with a FABULOUS bayou murial on one wall. It was just odd. Our server was good. She seemed like she was preoccupied but never neglected our needs.
The food was very good. My hubby ordered the appetizer sampler for dinner and, of course, had TONS left over. I ordered the jambalaya pasta. It was also a huge portion, but nowhere near as huge as that sampler.
I will say, I think the competition has a bit more heat to their food, but that is totally a personal preference. The flavor at Boo Ray's was good.
