We usually do not write Google reviews, but feel compelled to do so because of the wonderful experience we had with Kristie Knickerbocker. Our teenage son spent almost a year dealing with a dysphonia which it made it difficult for him to speak above a whisper. He spent months attending speech therapy before we were given Kristie’s name by a friend. Kristie immediately made our son feel at ease with her kind and easygoing nature. Within minutes, Kristi coached our son into talking with his relaxed, natural voice basically “unlocking” the voice that we had not heard in many months. We are forever grateful to Kristie for giving our son his spark back and allowing him to rediscover not only his voice, but also his confidence. Kristie Knickerbocker’s calm approach, experience and positivity are what makes her so special and so very good at what she does.

Voice therapy? For a cough? Yeah, I was skeptical too. But my cough kept me awake all night and my doctor would only prescribe the GOOD cough syrup in short doses.

Plenty of ENTs had told me that there was nothing really wrong and this is just how life is. Finally, found an ENT (Dr. Callahan) who DIDN'T think that, and he sent me to Kristie.

Not only did she take me and my cough seriously, she had SOLUTIONS. Breathe training has taught me how to control my coughing fits, allowing my throat and vocal chords to heal. Now? No more cough.

Will it come back? For sure. It's Texas and I'm allergic to everything. But I know that I don't have to suffer through chronic cough and I can be proactive about my health.

Don't be skeptical. Go. You deserve a cough-free life.

I have nothing but praise for Kristie the speech therapist wizard ! Every session she gave me concrete things to work on. I often came with questions and she always had thorough answers I really enjoy singing and before I started with Kristie I couldn't even sing three minutes without getting a sore throat. Now I do proper vocal warm ups that she taught me and I have been able sing FOUR consecutive songs with No sore throat at all.
And as a added bonus - Kristie is is Very pleasant to work with and has a good sense of humor.

I'm so happy to have found A Tempo! Kristie Knickerbocker is so knowledgeable and empathetic...she really listened to me as an individual and tailored her recommendations to fit my situation. I didn't have much expectation of therapy helping my problem, but I was wrong! Keeping an open mind and working her methods, I was amazed at the difference in my voice. I highly recommend!

I searched a lot of speech pathologists before I decided on this one and had a long talk with the pathologist. She was perfect for me because she services young adults and elderly, while most only specialize in children.

I can tell you that her capabilities are first tier. Also she has options for people without insurance. I highly recommend her.
