I had a herniated disc in my lower back in March of this year and had progressively worse back pain. As I was on Medicare I had to follow a serious of steps before they would allow me to see a surgeon and as my pain became intolerable I looked outside of the Medicare system for a surgeon that's experienced in working on back problems. It was by accident that we found Dr Valente and at our first meeting he spent over an hour going through what was wrong with my back. My son is a surgeon so he primed us as to how to assess the skill and ability of a specialist. Dr Valente not only exceeded our expectations but his "bedside manner" is second to none and he is obviously very confident in what he does. It was an absolute pleasure working with him and he reacted very quickly in getting me into surgery. It is now over four months since I had surgery and I cannot believe how well I have recovered.

The number one reason to use Dr Valente is that he does nothing but back surgeries every week and is very upfront with what is wrong with your back, and very honest with what he thinks he can do. If, as in my case , there are unforeseen problems during the operation which do not show up on the MRI scans, he has the skill and experience to be able to work around these problems. Would I use Dr Valente in the future? Absolutely.

Dr. Mark Valente is a great surgeon. I just had 3 disc removed, replaced and my lower back fused. I am so glad I had Dr. Valente do the surgery because 1 week after the surgery I feel great. His staff is very helpful and professional. Would recommend them anytime.

Dr. Valente performed L4/L5 fusion on my spine November 25, 2019 in Ft. Worth, TX. It was the most painful thing I have ever experienced post-surgery. However, I was up and walking literally 3 hours after surgery with none of the type of pain that I had prior to surgery. Now, 3 months post-surgery, I can stand for an hour with minimal pain and I can walk 2 miles or more without stopping and squatting every 200 yards in excruciating pain just to take the pressure off the nerves. I estimate 80-90% improvement with no pain medication of any kind for the past 2 months. I cannot recommend Dr. Valente highly enough.

I had a discectomy, which Dr Valenta perform the procedure. I’d just moved to Texas and was in so much pain. Try unpacking boxes and moving furniture. It doesn’t work with back pain.? I looked up a spinal doctor and found Dr. Valentines who had great reviews. I was also desperate at this point. My first appointment was a great experience with both the doctor and his staff in the Forth Worth location.
Once I got my MRI result, we decided that surgery was best. The surgery was about 35 minutes. When I woke up from anesthesia, I immediately felt feeling back in leg and foot. My 6 weeks recovery was so so easy. I was walking around by day two with near to no pain. That was awesome, but I rested because it was doctor’s orders? By my three months follow up I was 100% better. I am so appreciative of Dr Valenta!! I recommend anyone who’s having back issues to go see him at DISC Spine Institute. ?

Dr.Valente and his entire staff are very kind and truly listen. My surgery has improved my quality of life at least 80%, and the aftercare has been phenomenal.
