Dr. Kanwal is very experienced, truly kind and caring! She puts so much energy and enthusiasm in her work. I highly recommend her!

Ok... let me just say that if you are willing to navigate a cluster of an office mgmt team for a GREAT doctor then Dr. Kanwal is for you! I have been seeing her since April of this year and have been there a total of 4 times as of yesterday. She is truly remarkable- very patient, caring, invested & knowledgeable. She sits with me & answers all of my questions - and I have a lot! She has tried several different medications to narrow down my autoimmune condition & we are still not sure what it is, but I have relief with the newest medication she is trying. She also has an in house lab tech so you are able to get your blood draws on-site.

Now for the bad- her office staff is NOT good. I don't know if it's a lack of staff in general, a lack of quality staff, or a lack of a good manager, but it is really frustrating. I have to call 3-4 (if not more) times for anything I need- an appointment, a refill, etc. I have been working on getting a Prior Auth processed and approved and filled for truly 3 weeks. I had to go to the office last week to get samples to tide me over. It is not the doctor's fault- and yes, I know it is her practice, but between patient care, dealing with insurance issues, and all that is entailed with running a practice I know she is trying her best.

I was very honest with her yesterday during my appt regarding how dissatisfied I am with her office staff, and she said she is well aware and this is something they are working on. She has added an online portal for patients to send text messages directly to her nurse, Tiffany, and that is helping immensely. I just started using that this week. She is the closest dr to me and when I tried to find a rheumatologist as a new patient she was the only one that could see me within a month. I called several others (most over 30 miles from me) and they all had wait lists of 3-6 months. So, to some extent, yes I am sort of lacking options, BUT she really is worth the trouble of dealing with her staff.

Also, the office is sort of in a weird location- a not so nice strip shopping center near a grocery store. To be honest, I wanted to drive off when I pulled up for my first appointment, but I had already waited weeks for the appt. It is very nice and clean inside and it's not an unsafe area- just older. The staff are very nice, too. I think they are just very overwhelmed. And I was not paid for this review- LOL. I just feel bad for her and I don't want folks to be dissuaded by the recent bad reviews.

Need to get a doctor who is closer to me. Driving from south Tarrant County to north is way to far.
1 star off for office management. Dr. Kanwal is a pleasant doctor. I'm sure you will like her.?
