This place is the best kept secret in Mansfield! The brisket, ribs and turkey are all so flavorful, moist and tender. They offer a selection of like 8 different sides. Green beans, mashed potatoes, fried potatoes, beans, Mac and cheese, fried cabbage and more. Also, all of the employees are so nice and just pleasant to talk to. We just LOVE this place.
I just left an interview with Justin and I must admit, I was extremely nervous. I’m really hoping to get this opportunity to prove myself. He was absolutely amazing and I am praying that I land this opportunity. That being said Soulmans rocks, whether I get the chance to show them what I can bring to the table or not. Please go to a location near you, read the messages on the walls and I think it goes a lot deeper than just food (10 commandments)! Awesome!!
O.M.G. they have the best barbecue in Texas everything is so delicious and staff is very polite and nice. I highly recommend
#Soulman's
For a chain bbq Soulman's is very good. They use Nolan Ryan Angus Beef and it definitely has a more elevated flavor than a Dickey's or Spring Creek. Their sides are always good and the service is friendly. Prices are also reasonable. For brisket I think Soulman''s is the best chain bbq out there.
Five stars is a rare rating from me, but Soulman's Bar-B-Que absolutely earns it. I was recommended this place by a co-worker and I have to say that it was a gem of a discovery. BBQ is probably one of my favorite food groups of all time and I have tried everything from the tried and true Texas style, to Kansas City and the Carolinas. Soulman's was a real treat.
I tried a three meat plate with Brisket, Ham and Ribs with their Ranch House Bean, Spicy Potatoes and Potato Salad. Ribs and brisket are often how I judge a BBQ joint and here I was not disappointed. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, moist and had a flavorful bark with just enough of the rub pleasantly seared to the meat. A nice, crisp bark surrounded the sliced brisket with a wonderful deep smoke ring in the tender slices that were not dry at all, like so many places. The ham was even a bit surprising. It was well textured, juicy and held a wonderful smoked flavor.
What really impressed me were the sides. The Ranch House Beans had pieces of ham, sausage and brisket in them with chunks of onions and peppers. They were amazing. As was the Spicy Potatoes, a dish of pan-fried potatoes, peppers and onions. They have twelve different sides to choose from and they all looked delicious, except of course for the cabbage, but that is just a personal taste for me.
Apparently on Friday nights they have a catfish fry that really packs the place out. Going to have to return and try that out. If you are in the Mansfield area, you have to stop by Soulman's and give them a try. Bring your appetite, because they are not stingy with the servings and enjoy one of the Metroplex's genuine gems in BBQ faire.
