Commons Ford Ranch Metro Park

One of the great parks in the Austin area. It is fairly accessible, with a good set of clear trails. The lake is the main draw, but the restored prairie is special and you'll find peace, butterflies, and other wonders walking that trail.

On a colder day when there aren't many motor boats it's also one of the quietest parks, which, in addition to the prairie restoration, makes it a refuge for birds and birders.

I know it can get busy here though, and folks are not particularly careful about cleaning up after their dogs or keeping them on leash.

But this does not sully the natural experience, which is sublime.

Beautiful area and well kept up! Definitely fun for the dogs and it’s nice that it’s on the water.

Don't go there it's alot of fun!

Beautiful park but it does get crowded, lots of dogs off leashes and lots of poop left behind.
