  Not the best place to bring little ones side there is no play ground. It's best to run the track without little kids.
  
  Family hiking though is great if you don't get lost since trails are not marked, just hope you know where you are going.

  Nice little getaway for you and your furry friend. Trailhead parking and facilities are good. Hang out in the off leash open area or hit the trail. You can hike to the end of the trail to get to the water or take the shorter route half way there. Crossing the water takes your further into the trail. Water is clean enough for dogs but haven't seen anyone swimming.

  Located adjacent to the Goodnight Ranch community this park is a gem in progress. Estimated to be nearly 600 acres in size once completed this is going to be the go to park for South Austin. Currently there is a hike/bike loop and a large green area plus some natural kept wooded trails. There's also access to onion creek"secret" beach if you are willing to find your way.

I wanted to like this park/trail more than I ended up. It's not a bad trail, but it needs some work. First off, if you're at the Vine Hill trailhead, the trail starts about 50 yards to the left of the kiosk, towards the creek. There are a lot of side trails, most appear to head to the creek.
