Matt is a fantastic tutoring that puts in way too much time outside of your sessions to craft your tutoring game plan. His price is super-duper reasonable, especially with the quality of service he gives you. Matt took the time to learn what approach would work best for me, and corresponded with me even after our sessions to provide me tips and additional material.

I'm pretty erratic with what teaching style works best for me. Sometimes I want to ask a million questions a minute, and sometimes I want total silence alone to work one question for 30 minutes. Matt accommodated me on a moment-by-moment basis and was super flexible. The thing that really helped me most, however, was how he helped motivate me. Ultimately a student has to be motivated on their own, but he would give that extra push (or that extra text telling me to get off my butt) when I needed it.

I'm a freshman in electrical engineering at UT who took a year off after graduating from a high school which only taught me up to algebra in math. I saw Matt for three months during the summer before my first semester at UT to prepare for the calculus readiness test. Matt tutored me in algebra, trig and pre-cal, as well as some calculus. I managed to pass the calculus readiness test, despite never having studied trig or any pre-cal in high school. I will continue to see Matt for at least another two years during my studies at UT.

Matt has a fantastic in depth understanding of mathematics, but he's even better at translating this into English. What's most enjoyable about working with him is that you come out having a real, true understanding of how and why everything works the way it does, leaving you without the need to just regurgitate material in class and leaving you more with a feeling of solid comprehension. Matt is like a boxing trainer for mathematics, he'll turn you into a fighter and increase your stamina for breaking apart and solving complex problems. Awesome teacher, brings out the potential you didn't even know you had

The tutor that I have worked with is amazing. His name is Matthew Blagg. During my junior year in high school, Matthew helped with pre-calculus. He helped my grades improve major, he isn't like other tutors, he understands you from every aspect and where you need a little push. He helped me from the smallest things such as multiplying 2x2 (from when I would be nervous) to the difficult things such as matrix problems. Matthew will always be there for you!!! '

I was struggling in algebra at Austin Community College (been out of school for over 14 yrs due to the military), I wanted to find a tutor that could actually explain these concepts to me in a way that I could understand. Matt is phenomenal at translating word problems and explaining what is happening every step of the way. His approach to mathematics allowed me to feel empowered about tackling any type of math problem out there. We have been working on SAT/ACT problems now for less than two weeks, I have already started to enjoy actually working on all the problems over and over again. It is now fun. This has been one of the best learning experiences I have ever had in an academic environment.
