I'm giving this rating of a 5 to stay that it's a negative five. My daughter attended the school for the first time this school year 2017 - 2018. She has been a model student through her whole education through the Austin schools never have gotten into any physical altercations. The school safety has failed my daughter. My daughter felt as if she could not go and talk to the assistant principal the counselors all the principal. She had a pencil thrown at her was could have put out her eye. Prior to this she has been harassed and was told that she was going to get beat up at the school she's there by herself no friends no relatives. Coming to a new school the school is supposed to ensure your child safety my my daughter was afraid of her safety. To make a long story short trying to defend herself came out to be an assault case on my daughter because the teacher did not report a series of events prior to the alleged attack that my daughter had imposed on another girl. This incident happened a week before Thanksgiving they have still not gathered all the statements from the students it seems as if they're waiting for time to laugh says if I will forget about it mean while my daughter has a case that is a direct reflection of the school failing her and them not filing a report on the other girl for harassment and for my daughter reasoning for trying to protect herself so she thought. She was told by classmates that she meaning the girl in question that started the attack was the person who had indeed thrown the pencil so and so she took it upon herself to handle the situation after reporting It 2 to 3 times to the teacher. Without knowing anything else to do she felt she was getting the girl off of her. It was then later found out that it was the student that was instructed to stay away from her 3 weeks ago they had hey keep away contract that was signed by each student. The other student habitually kept kept breaking the contract and nothing was done. The girl that threatened to jump my daughter and cause her physical harm caused her to not be able to concentrate on her classes and she also had a twin that was in andother class with my daughter at this time she's frightened. What would you do if no adults around that you tell aren't there to help you or do anything about it? But when I filed the report for harassment for the other girl they tell me that they are choosing not to press charges on her for assault. But they choose to give my daughter a fair shake before they chose to put an assault on her seeing as though it was due to their negligence but the parent must pay at the school. I'm warning you guys period since then my daughter has been the model student. She does as always what she's supposed to do. At that time she was going through a phase as to where she wanted me to take her hair down because she was afraid that if they fought her it would mess up her hair. My child's father requested that she be removed from the classes that had those girls in there and since then everything has been fine but nothing has been done yet to this day March 20th as far as getting statements from them since November. I am so livid about this. No one has even called me about a status update me. They tried to lessen what had happened and told me if I press charges then I'm going to pick it up as if to make me back down and not place my report because they're stating the officer their stated that they're not going to pick up charges it still needs to be on file because they need to know that this is a direct reflection of the school not handling their business. So please make sure that your child goes to the principal or the vice principal if they should have any problem after telling the teacher one time tell on that same very day are you two will be in this predicament

Don't let anyone tell you that Manor High School is a bad school. I have 5 kids that have attended and that are still attending. There are so many resources for my kids. The athletic department is awesome and being a Mustang rocks!
