Beautiful hike. Not a hard hike, to get to the waterfall is about 3 miles, lots of shade which is nice! Go early before it gets hot and take plenty of water! My poor dog wad exhausted and the pads of her feet were burned. We had to get a boat rescue because she would not get up of the ground and walk. Quite a memorable hike!
Great for bicycling(on the main roads meandering through the park and back across the dam towards Georgetown proper). Traffic on the roads is friendly to bicyclists. The goodwater trail is nice but poorly marked, especially in it's extensions that supposedly girdle the lake. Private property is encroaching more and more and rendering much of the shoreline trail somewhat inaccessible to hikers.
Beautiful, calm, and serene! I love lake life, something extremely freeing about the calmness it creates. This is a gorgeous area! You can camp, walk trails, put your boat in the water. 😊
It was a good place for a couple nights. You cannot get to the water on the camping side of the park at all but the sites are nice. I'm a tent camper and I enjoyed laughing at all the rvs trying to level out here.
Hidden gem of Lake Georgetown.
