Rock Springs

Pros: Almost all staff were kind, caring and competent. Nice, open day room. Lots of opportunities to go outside. Lovely therapists. Lots of activities to pass the time. A psychiatrist is there everyday. Most patients were really nice, too.

Cons: Food was below average, frequently unseasoned or overcooked. Less therapy time than I had hoped for. Website says LGBTQ friendly but there is little indication of that. I was asked what my preferred pronouns when filling out paperwork, but PCAs and nurses were not informed of my preferred pronouns. A lot of misgendering and use of wrong pronouns unless you specify to every person what your pronouns are.

This place saved my life. I could not be more thankful for the experience. During my time here, I was in the Sunrise unit, and the whole time (2 weeks inpatient, 10 days outpatient) I felt comfortable and cared for.
There were also ample opportunities to call loved ones from hospital phones, on top of the hour of personal phone time each day, which allowed me to keep on top of things. There were also many times throughout the day when I was able to go outside and relax in the sun.
The outpatient services were great as well. I highly enjoyed my PHP group and therapist.
The only complaint I had was that the bedrooms had a very loud A/C(?) system which made it difficult to sleep at first, but I quickly got used to it and they also provided earplugs.
If you or a loved one are struggling with mental health, I would say this is an excellent place for rehabilitation.

Rock Springs has compassionate and caring staff. They have an amazing facility and top notch service. I have used them to refer my clients for detox and psychiatric stabilization. It has been a seamless process for the families and their loved ones. I truly appreciate the work that each of their staff has provided. I would definitely recommend.
