“Dr. Rhodes was a wonderful doctor. I was originally going through the VA for my service connected hip. Since the VA did not have a hip specialist, he accepted the case for them. He was very nice and answered my questions and concerns clearly. When I brought up other possible options, he was nice to explain why they were not viable for this situation. He also found problems in my knee from the VA MRI that I've been complaining about for years and the VA said nothing was wrong. I didn't bring up the knee, he did, so it was not prodding. He performed the surgery and found a bone spur that was not shown on the MRI that was causing the labral tear that did. I've had a previous surgery on that hip for labral resections and have had pain in it since discharge. This is the first time in 14 years that I can walk somewhat without pain and my cane (though bad limp). Now the goal is to get that range of motion back and strength that I lost over the years. That will be the challenge since I have to go through the VA for PT. He is definitely doing that knee and also my shoulder that the VA has messed up because I no longer trust them and have been looking outside for over a year. 4 surgeries and nothing but getting worst each time. I have confidence that he can fix them and if not, at least make them pain free to tolerable and functional, in essence, better than now.”

He listens to his patients, has a great bedside manner, and he is very knowledgeable. He explains complex things in ways you can comprehend. “FOLLOW UP: I have continued to see Dr. AMER because of her nurse who is wonderful: returns calls, responsive, timely and helpful. I believe in 2nd chances. Things have gotten better with Dr. Amer who has addressed my concerns. She is a pleasant physician, always available and the office is never crowded or requires long wait time. FIRST VISIT: The location is new. The doctor seemed new as well. I was a new patient and thought she would inquire about my family and medical history, she did not. I was offered to do my annual physical which was open your mouth, breath in and out and go do labs at Quest. I said I recently had abdominal pain, that was ignored. As she exited the room her child was at the door. I got a sense of dissatisfaction and like she was not a personable physician who got detailed with her patients. She did a lot of suggesting to see other specialist and was honest about her abilities”
