“They have a very helpful staff. They offer many classes, and have great online resources. They just repainted, and it feels like they are really trying to freshen the place up. I go online and request books and movies to pick up so they are waiting on me when I get there. They get new materials on a regular basis. You can borrow the same movies from the library that Redbox offers, but free of charge. They also offer TV shows, and you can stream movies and TV shows through Hoopla and you don't even have to go to the library.”

“The Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center serves as the official regional historical resource depository for the 10 southeast Texas counties. Is an excellent place to research about the history of Texas/ East Texas. The Center have records, newspapers, maps, documents, artifacts, photographs, manuscripts, and local government records that document the area's history. On the grounds are restored and furnished historic structures that can be visited if booked well in advance. The employees are very knowledgeable and are prompt to help.”

“I was visiting Dallas for a quick meeting and my trip had been kind of disaster (flat tire, plane delay) and I really needed a print out of my parking pass. This library was close to the airport so I stopped by after exchanging my broken rental car. Everyone was friendly and helpful, they got me right on a computer and I was on my way in ten minutes. The place looked nice and well maintained. It wasn't huge but it was a nice neighborhood size branch. As a side note they may want to work on their branding because when I asked the guys at Alamo rent a car about local libraries nobody had heard of the place and it's only a mile away.”

“This place is gorgeous! White stone exterior looks like several conjoined cubes with sloped roofs. It’s a lot better than it sounds. The entrance is shielded by low-hanging trees, which makes entering the building that more dramatic. Very high sloped ceiling with lots of glass and while color and light greet you. It just gets better as you enter the main room and walk around. Fortunately this library is not just looks. It has a huge collection of books and electronic media. The Afro-American section is the biggest I’ve seen in the Dallas libraries. The Children’s section is almost a little library in itself. The only negative I’ve seen is the lack of chairs and desks relative to the size of the library. Other than that small quibble this is really a great library, truly as asset to not only the neighborhood, but the city of Dallas itself. Check it out!”

“Great big library. Enough room to walk around when you sit and read for some time. The glass view of the Mission next door is amazing. Those seats are taken up a lot. Great patio with seats outside. A playground for kids. Lots of space to walk around. And it is awesome since it is next to the San Antonio river. It can lead you all the way to downtown. selection of books is okay. Not many to choose from. More of Internet and computers and events for this library than great books to choose from.”

“This library is extremely clean, well kept, organized, has plenty of GREAT books & movies , and always has something going on to get the children involved. However, I'm giving four stars because the staff seems to be very blunt (borderline rude to say the least) when asking certain questions, as if I'm supposed to know the answer. When I asked for help finding a law book I was told to "look it up on the computer book directory", & given some book numbers.) Mind you this was my FIRST time at this library. My husband and I just moved into town! Then when I called to tell them that i may be a day late in returning the items, bc my husband would have the truck that day. Her response was "if you bring them in before 10:00 you won't be considered late, but if you walk through the door at 10:01 I will have to charge you a late fee NO exceptions. I just find them a little snooty sometimes, although, they are sweet other times. This is just my experience all together its a great library with excellent content.”

“It's a good country library. Internet is good, but there are only two computers out of the 6 that let you get onto Facebook. There was something wrong with the word doc when I went last week, it wouldn't let me edit or anything (I didn't try to print) and the lady that works there didn't know anything about it, but she never came to look at it while I was there. The lady is sweet, retired wisd teacher, I would recommend this place.”
