“Every Texan should make the pilgrimage to the birthplace of the Republic. As with the US, the founding fathers of Texas put their lives on the line when they declared Independence from Mexico. And you can see where it all went down right here! A fantastic experience, a wonderful museum and a beautiful park. Highly recommended!”

“I cannot say enough good things about Louise and her business. She makes you feel very comfortable and her work is amazing. She offers a discount if you space wax services 4 weeks apart, which has been a game changer for me. It makes the service virtually pain free and I'm in and out in 10 minutes!”

“The Bat Colony on Fite road is home to a colony of Mexican Free-tailed bats. Over ten thousand of them. They are known to roost in few places, but with huge numbers. While bats are an important part of our ecosystem (controlling insects and what-not) , and are usually not aggressive, a certain level of caution must be maintained. There are three things to watch out for that I have found 1) Bats can have rabies, symptoms may include. a. Odd behavior separate from the rest of the colony b. Out in the daylight c. Not flying or not flying properly d. There also may be no symptoms, caution is a must. If you come in close contact with a bat and even had a slight chance of being bitten or scratched, you should seek medical attention immediately. 2) Bat Guano (Feces) contains a fungus that can become airborne called Histoplasmosis (also affiliated with bird droppings) Most cases of exposure do not result in infection, however those with immune system conditions are more susceptible. Free tailed bats specifically are called “guano bats” because of the large amount of droppings they can produce. 3) If there is a bug in your face, there is a possibility that the bat would really enjoy that bug in their face. Also I don’t understand the point of being able to rate something like this, that being said, Five Stars.”

“Eclectic collections and it's free. Kids love it, just enough of one topic and zip, if to dinosaurs, then shells. Helpful docents, then an art gallery. Go to Sea Center next for free.”

“Very interesting place. They have amazing model train displays that are historically accurate. We visited in the summer, and the only down side was that the building was a bit warm. Overall, it was a cool find.”
