  Place is small inside and parking is kind of a free for all.
  However After moving from New Jersey and going through almost every Caribbean joint in South Hampton Roads. This is the best!! The food is amazing you get so much without feeling overcharged. We come here almost more than 4 times every 2 weeks. It is great. Best food real grilled Caribbean food, nice people, best portions, easy pickup. Lots of Jerk sauce included. Rest of Norfolk Chesapeake and Virginia Beach Caribbean food is horrible. Actually every other place in the state of Virginia is trash. Try this place their food is the best. And they do not count Plantain as a side like the rest down here. It’s included with your two real sides. Best deal. My wife and I Love this place. We haven’t gone back to MP ever since. That place is horrible and we felt we were forced to since it was only other place we could get fast island food. Never going back only Island Jerk Hut has the realest down here.

  Good Jamaican spot. Small building so I can imagine it gets VERY crowded when busy. Food is absolutely delicious though. I gave 4 stars because they only serve certain items on certain days. Other than that I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Jamaican cuisine. Oh and you get large portions of food for the price you pay for.

  This place is the real deal!! Food is outstanding, fairly priced and large portions. The jerk chicken here is to die for. If you’re looking to grab a bite here a few things to know: it’s very small so there’s no indoor seating. second thing, if you don’t live in the neighborhood and are traveling here be sure to call first to see if they’re open. They seem to open and close when they want.

  If you’re looking for Authentic Jamaican Food... this is the place! As a real Yawdieeeee this place gets 10/10. This Jerk Pork is amazing! And the sauce is sooooooo delicious. I definitely will be coming back. ???????????? ????????????????????????

  The credit card machine was down, so I had to find an ATM that was actually operating in the area. The chicken was very juicy, though a little burnt in some spots. The sauce is quite spicy, you might want to get it on the side. The steamed vegetables were fine, and the Mac and cheese was really good with that nice crunchy topping. $17 for that platter and a bottle of water. It wasn't what I would call cheap, but it's a unique experience and it's worth visiting.

(757) 494-1502. Don't be scared - this is literally a hut in South Norfolk. You may have to park across the street to get to it. I arrived to this tiny hut (the place lives up to the name) to see a handwritten sign on the door that the card machine wasn't working and I'd have to get cash.
