Can be a little hard to find for anyone parking there for the first time. But the parking is good and it offers direct access to the Appalachian Trail.
A rough gravel lot with space for about 12 cars. A very short blue-blazed connector trail brings you to the AT. The lot is down a slope from the road and is very hard to see heading northbound on the road, but there is a small sign on a tree.
I can't think of any place on the trail I don't like. Even the worst parts are still wonderful to me.
Hiking trails full of blueberries and mushrooms, with easier and more difficult ones going towards the scenic stops. Park down or drive up and then get lost in the woods until you can navigate back to the car. Marvelous place to spend an afternoon.
