Not only is Dr. Wind the best doctor in the area, he is definitively one of the best in the entire half of the state! I have previously been cared for by surgeons in Northern Virginia and Richmond prior to moving to the Northern Neck. Dr. Wind fixed problems the others could not and my experience at multiple visits has been nothing short of outstanding. He is caring, compassionate, very personable, extensively trained, and obviously a remarkably skilled surgeon. His reputation throughout the area is impeccable, hence the challenge getting to see him. The only criticism folks have is the amount of time it takes to get an appointment or be seen in clinic. I remind them, he is a solo doctor in a small town who is in high demand handling patients in clinic, the hospital, emergency room, and walking into clinic all by himself. You don't have a line out the door every day unless there is a reason for it. Do you want to eat at the restaurant with no one in the parking lot or the restaurant that has an hour wait every single night? I personally have been there 10 times and never had to wait any longer than any other ortho surgeon's office. Expecting to be in and out of a surgeon's office with x rays, injections, casts, etc. in under 30 minutes is simply unreasonable. Regardless, it could take all day and is still worth the wait to make sure I get the best care for my body.
I have been seeing Dr Wind since he started his practice several years ago. He is an excellent physician for a small town doctor. His practice has grown very large over the years and I completely understand why. I have my complete trust in his hands as a physician. Even if the wait times grow long, I find myself thinking that I know I won't go anywhere else because I know I am with the best. Others realize this too since he has such a high demand.
