  I can not express enough how much of a wonderful school and community this is. My daughter has been challenged in her first trimester here and I can not be more proud. She has joined the basketball team and been enriched with opportunities for culture, values and extra-curricular activities. Thank you St. Margarets for being an amazing school for my freshman, I could not have picked a better community!

  Sending our daughter to St. Margaret’s School was the best decision and has helped our daughter grow into a very strong young woman. She was a mostly A/some B student throughout public elementary and middle school. The issue is that our daughter was not challenged and became very bored at school year over year. She began missing time yet still made A’s and B’s and spent very little time actually studying. We saw our oldest struggle her freshman year of college and knew that our youngest was being set up for the same fate. Despite conversations with teachers and administration there were very few options made available for us to challenge our daughter at school and set her up for success in the future. We made several visits to SMS and our daughter decided she wanted to make the change beginning her freshman year. Her placement tests for SMS cemented the fact that we had made the right decision. She did struggle her first year but there was and is a very strong support system at SMS. Study skills are taught, teacher assistance is available every day and many people throughout the school reached out to her to help her through. Fast forward to her junior year and college visits, she realized that everything a college is looking for is what she has and is accomplishing at St. Margaret’s. She is a senior this year and is holding several leadership positions, has volunteered in the community in many different ways, has taken increasingly more difficult classes (including dual enrollment classes), has made friends with a very diverse group (local, domestic as well as international), played a varsity sport for 4 years and has had the opportunity to try other sports that she may not have been able to in public school.
  Yes it is small and yes it is an older school but they are continually improving rules, classes, staff, events and technology based upon feedback and students needs (this year the library was upgraded with technology and more useable study space).
  I would recommend that anyone who is looking at private schools to put this on your list. If you aren’t looking at private schools but any of the things I described pertain to your daughter, set up a tour and you might just find that this is something worth considering.
