  The girl who worked there was very patient with me. She brought out at least 8 pairs of shoes for me to try on until I was sure of the shoes I wanted. Even though I already told her I ran overpronation, she still evaluated me to trust but verify. A big plus in my book and I would go back again and recommend.

  While as pricey as most specialty running stores, it is worth it. The staff takes an amazing amount of time to analyze your gait and work with you to find a pair of shoes that works for you. They also give back to area high school running programs and are a great part of the community.

  This is an excellent place to go for anything from running shoes to any kind of running apparel, running advice, and especially advice for how to get connected to local runners and running groups. Each store in the area (there are 7 in the greater DC/ Northern Virginia area) hosts weekly group social runs, which attracts runners of all speeds, abilities, and backgrounds. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful
  
  The store also hosts a series of races ranging in distances from 5 ks to 10 milers and everything in between. The races are guaranteed to be well-organized, a good bang for your buck, very welcoming, and a great time. They are competitive but welcoming to runners of all experience and ability levels. I highly recommend checking out your local branch of Potomac River Running!
