Dr Horwath is a wonderful doctor with excellent bedside manner. I went to him for several years. He has a sincere interest in your health and is extremely knowledgeable about endocrine health. It’s a shame that these ratings are reflecting Inova and not the doctor himself.
I would highly recommend Dr. Michael Horwath to anyone that is need of an amazing doctor that truly cares about you and your health. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field and you can trust what he tells you, no fluff, just straight talk. Love you doc
So I have been a diabetic for almost 13 years now and as I have come to know; a good Endocrinologist is a diamond in the rough. I have heard through the grape vine of friends that he is a diamond. I have been through many emotional scars from a few and was not satisfied with the one I had. I had to wait until January of 2017 but I knew it would be worth it. I felt so much compassion and inspiration from my first appointment. It wasn't just about my numbers. It wasn't just about my readings. It was about how I was doing as a whole. Only 2 other Endo's I had before has done that for me. It was a breath of fresh air. I finally got the quality care that I have been searching for and I hope to stay for many years to come. It isn't always an easy road but it helps when someone cares about you as much as he does.
Update: I am still seeing Dr Horwath and while I agree with many that the office staff needs to be harassed to make sure they get a simple fax and the NP can cop an attitude when you call her on the wrong day. I still see a brighter benefit to seeing Dr Horwath than not. My A1C used to be close to a 10 but now its at a 7.3- 7.7. I would have never been able to make this kind of progress if it wasn't for the fact that I started seeing him. He gets it. I wish every other Endo I had, shadowed him for a day. They can learn something about patient care and bed side manner. It makes a world of a difference. Nothing to prove, willing to share and not just numbers on a page.
