  I just love this school. Between both my kids, we've been to three other schools in this neighborhood. I've liked them all for different reasons but Tauxemont is special. I also like that we get priority access to Nature Camp in the summer and I love the school auction in the spring. Even when my kids out grow this school, it'll always be our school.

  Tauxemont is a small cooperative preschool and kindergarten, established in 1942, nicknamed "the little school in the woods." It's non-denominational, focusing on outdoor play and learning through nature. There's a chicken coop on site, and a wide variety of animal friends in the classroom (hamsters, doves, rabbits). The school offers morning and afternoon classes. Because the small school fills up for the next season very quickly, make sure you know what day enrollment opens for the next year! As a cooperative, parents are assigned a job for the year, must participate in two Saturday clean-up sessions a year, and must assist in their child's classroom on a rotating schedule. Tauxemont also hosts a very popular series of summer nature camps, with weekly rotating outdoor themes. We love this place - it's a true gem of a school, and the parent involvement makes it really special for everyone.

Tauxemont has been teaching children a love of learning since 1942. Our fully wooded environment provides plenty of enriching moments as they enjoy both their outdoor and indoor classrooms.
