(December 17, 2018, 5:16 pm)Very nice piece of wilderness in busy Woodbridge. Great for walking trails and bicycles as well. Great views and walks along the bay's calm waters. I also spotted a couple of bald eagles' nests high up in the trees.

(December 5, 2018, 2:11 pm)Beautiful park w/a boat launch area, kayak rentals, slow pitch softball & baseball cages, and nice picnic shelters you can rent. The Brickmakers Cafe located in the middle of the park is definitely worth a try too. They have delicious food and both indoor & outdoor seating right near the Occoquan river.

(November 30, 2018, 6:53 am)This park has a great walk up to the top of the hill upon which you can enjoy a wonderful view. In addition to the main entrance, the park is accessible from the town of Occoquan by walking up to top of the town and then across the bridge.

Outstanding cafe with good food, local craft beer (Fairwinds) and great prices.
Lots of features for boaters. New buildings are attractive and pavilions look comfortable. The walking/biking paths are newly paved but there needs to be more signs than the one (!) by the cafe. For biking, the paths are a bit short. There's a fine hiking trail through the woods but it's not signed well at all: it should say "2 mile loop" on both entrances. There's lots of room so I hope they blaze more hiking trails through the woods, lots of potential. Oh yeah, $6 pulled pork fries are the bomb! -

(September 15, 2018, 2:25 pm)Occoquan Regional Park trails: Paved trail around a well cared for Occoquan Regional Park. Is it a nature hike? Nahh, not really....but it is a good easy walk that follows along the Occoquan river and very accessible. Dog friendly too. The loop I did was exactly two miles, so nice and easy to measure out distances for running or walks. Fair bit of highway noise, mostly shady; if you are just looking for a quick easy paved walk, this works well.
