“The doctors and staff are great - highly talented, long history in the area and garner awards every year. My two children saw them when they were born. Bottom line, if my kids had had any issues, I wouldn't have trusted anyone else to treat them.”

“Went to Dr. Barbour due to his experience with hand injuries as mentioned on his website. I injured my hand in an ice hockey game and ended up breaking a bone in my hand that caused a ton of pain in normal every day activities such as opening a door or typing at my work computer. Dr. Barbour sent me for some scans of my hand which showed the extent of the injury. He gave me a few options of how he could best help me, and I decided to have he surgery done to remove the broken pieces of bone to lessen the pain and allow me to get back into what I like to do, which is being active, working out and playing hockey again. Dr. Barbour had me scheduled for a surgery within a couple weeks, and I could have had it taken care of that week if I had the clearance from work. He did a great job on the surgery, I really am impressed considering this is my first surgery. I'm two months post-op and you can't even tell that I had surgery on my hand. All my family and friends that I spoke with were across the board impressed with how well the incision was made and how it healed. I can happily say I am back to ice hockey and feel good as new, and I only have Dr. Barbour and his staff to thank. They treated me like a VIP from day one and I would gladly go back to him if I am unfortunate enough to get another hand injury. Thanks to Dr. B and the team and I 100% recommend their services.”

“GIVF staff is very kind and helpful to my situation. The doctors are great and explain everything going into detail. The nurses are very helpful. Some women need this place and would be lost without it. I wish Virginia would cover IVF. They are doing a great service to the community.”

“My wife just returned home after 5+ weeks in Iliff rehab to recover from a fall. She was in extreme pain for the first two weeks. The nurses and aides, mostly African, were kind, conscientious, competent, and took good care of her. The PT/OT therapists were excellent. The (semiprivate) rooms were cozy, and we were glad to have a roommate. There was NO theft: We had an iPhone and iPad in her room for her entire stay, and she was absent from the room for offsite dialysis three days a week. Yes, sometimes there was an odor in the hallway, but only sometimes. Yes, the caregivers do sit down with their phones/ipads, but they did their rounds and were responsive. They have tough jobs that I do not covet; I was grateful for them. One concern is that the doctors, who are not there every day, were slow in taking my wife off oxycodone/oxcycontin (not sure which), which made her tired during rehab. Another concern is that due to the pain my wife was flat on her back for two weeks and developed bed sores on her heels. We MIGHT have been able to prevent them by keeping her heels elevated if we'd known that heels could develop bed sores. In any case, once the pain from the fall subsided she was conscientious about lying on her side to take pressure off the heels, and the sores have cleared up. To Iliff's credit, no sores developed on her back. My wife gives Iliff an "A". When you consider that much of liff's income is Medicaid, I marvel that they are able to remain in business and do such a good job. However, whenever someone is in any medical/caregiver facility, whether it's an INOVA Fairfax facility or Iliff, a family member or some other advocate needs to show up daily to monitor the care.”

“I found Body and Brain Yoga in Falls Church when looking for a means of dealing with challenging physical pain and related anxiety that had really begun to take over my life. The principles of Dahn Yoga and their holistic approach to physical/emotional/spritual wellness, along with the very caring and helpful master instructors and quite friendly members have been of incredible assistance on my path back to health. It has only been about a month and I am already feeling much better both physically and emotionally. I strongly recommend this yoga center to anyone, whether you are going through a difficult patch in your life, or simply looking to enrich your day to day life through improved health.”
