“The baseball field is a little unkempt, but the grass is trash-free and fully grown in as well as not too long. The volleyball court is also set to the correct height and has lines already down! No more bringing your own lines (although the court is bigger than regulation). Lastly, the half basketball court hoop is taller than regulation by about 4-6 inches. Otherwise, park is in great shape.”

“I injured my back in early March. Normally I would heal in a week or two. Weeks turned into months, and things grew worse. It was painful to walk and stand. Sleeping grew difficult. I finally broke down and bought crutches. I consulted a doctor who noted some degenerative spinal discs with a “have a good life” tone. I grew increasingly depressed, isolated, and was losing hope of ever getting better. I found myself avoiding activities I normally would pursue (home DIY and social events). I just wanted to lie on the couch. My state of absolute misery affected home and work. I did try to learn stretches via the internet to no avail. I fully understand how people turn to prescribed addictive narcotics for relief which I refused to do. Finally I shopped around for rehab places. Most treated me like a number and scheduling was difficult which just added to my sense of despair. Finally, I called Jackson-Worldgate. I was immediately impressed by appointment availability and the convenient locations. Office director Baheshta’s warm and reassuring reception gave me my first brief glimpse of hope in 3 months. I attended twice a week at 7:00 a.m. before work for roughly two months covered by insurance. I worked with doctors Claire (Clinic Director) and Michael and exercise specialist Aly. They are awesome. All staff are very knowledgeable, credentialed and experienced combined with a real sense of empathy of understanding which is incredibly rare in a medical world filled with condescending indifference. Never underestimate the power of hope in the healing process. The staff likes what they do, and they like working with people. I actually looked forward to going in large part because I just liked talking with them in the morning. They are genuine and fun to be around. There are usually 2 or 3 fellow patients meeting in one large room. There are privacy curtains when necessary, but normally tables are side by side but with a sense of one-on-one work and privacy nonetheless. The doctors are one side of the room, and exercise staff on the other. I enjoyed getting to know the staff and the “regulars” (other patience) who attended during my time slot. I feel as if I developed friendships. Lots of laughter. The routine usually involves half a session evaluating movement, limitations, and examination along with hands on massage/manipulation. They explain the root cause of pain, address common posture/behavioral “bad habits” (walking, sitting, standing, sleeping) and explain how to care for your back properly. They loosen you up and then coordinate with the exercise specialists who teach all the appropriate stretches and strengthening techniques specific to your unique situation and have you do the exercise there with them . They teach you to do it correctly. There is repetition and it sinks in. Its hard work, but they motivate you. Aly keeps it real simple “butt n’ gut”. It all paid off. Nearly half a year later and I feel like I am back to normal but with a new found knowledge. Back pain is very prevalent and is not something to try and solve or deal with on your own. It takes specific and trained analysis of each individual by skilled specialists followed by focused prescribed stretching/strengthened and behavioral modifications unique to the individual. The Jackson Clinic staff excels at this.”
