Nelsen Funeral Home of Ashland Va did an excellent job in helping with the arrangements for our mother's celebration of life. Jim Dunn and staff listened and provided exactly what the family requested. Jim coordinated all aspects of the arrangements to help provide the utmost honor to our mother. Kelly did an excellent job formatting the service folders. All the staff members there were extremely helpful and compassionate. The family rejoices that our mother is with the Lord Jesus Christ. And thank you again to the staff at Nelsen for all their excellent service.
We buried my father this past weekend and I couldn’t be happier with the service provided by Nelsen, and specifically Taylor. He was open, incredibly organized, kind and understanding. From the first meeting he struck me as someone here to help, not pester or complicate as I have found in other funeral homes. We had a service my father would be happy with, traditional and heartfelt, and they found us a great officiant and bagpiper without any additional effort from us. They made a horrible week after a sudden death go quick and easy, and anyone who has lost someone knows that is usually the best you can hope for. Thank you to all the Nelsen family!
Taylor Lawson, the Nelsen representative who facilitated the arrangements for my late mother, did so with respect, sensitivity and compassion. Though young, Taylor expertly handled the necessary paperwork for the cremation, and ensured that the viewing, a heart-rending occurrence, was beautiful despite the agony. Taylor, and by extension Nelsen, represent great compassion and guidance in a time of blinding bereavement.
