The Preserve at Dundee

Absolute perfection!!! What a way to experience my first Upland hunt. I have been an avid hunter for many years, and this operation delighted me far beyond any expectations I may have had. The hunt, grounds, guide, dogs owner... You name it and it, was first class. If you are an outdoorsman you owe it to yourself to give The Preserve at Dundee a try.

Ted has managed to carry on his dad's ~30 year love of upland birds and managing the wonderful habitat they need at The Preserve at Dundee. A full experience venue!!

The Preserve, only about 30 min up route 301 NE of Richmond, has a lot of history as well as a beautiful historic home, carriage house, sheds, lodges etc. It sits at the end a long gravel drive, where you soon discover why, as you peer out over the rolling hills, grasslands, and thinned pines that have been managed by his father since the early 90's.

The cover is well managed, the birds have great habitat, and Ted and his dogs are top notch. The random mix of quail, chukar, and pheasant were exciting, and flew well.

After all the fun, he treats you to an awesome lunch / cocktails under his wedding tent, that sits behind the house nestled between the old school gardens and the hunting grounds!!

It was an AWESOME time, and he didn't even have the "reclaimed timber, comfy leather sofa, man cave area" finished yet.

Give Ted and call and get you and your dog off the sofa!! Your dog will thank you!!

Beautiful property and top notch quail habitat less than half an hour from downtown Richmond. A must try location for upland bird hunters in the area and an excellent option for anyone looking to host an event in a historical setting near Richmond.

Fantastic hunting; plenty of birds and they flew well; food and hospitality was great. I recommend it to anyone.
