Dr Mason showed me photocopies of my lumbar x-rays and described the issue. He gave me various options, including PT which I am already doing for my hip. He will add some work for my back to the program. I will decide after the PT is over what , if anything to pursue next.
From start to finish my experience with Dr. Mason and tidewater orthopedics had been one best experiences I've had in the medical field. My issue started of being in major pain due to a sciatic nerve pinch from my intervertebral disc between my L5 and S1 vertebrae. I ended up needing minor surgery and with the procedure done I was on the road to recovery. I thank Dr. Mason and Dr. Furlong for how informative and help they have been throughout this process and will be recommending this location and Doctors from this day forth. Including the great staff at they have at Williamsburg office! Thank you to everyone for the phenomenal experience.
Dr. Mason is an excellent physician. He is without a doubt one of the most personable doctors I have ever encountered, easy to talk to, doesn't over explain but makes absolutely sure you know what he is going to be doing. I was in severe pain and had numbness in my right are which Dr. Mason diagnosed as a pinched nerve in my neck. We discussed the alternatives available and ultimately decided on surgery. Best decision I ever made, immediate relief of numbness and pain gone in about a month. Followup visits were routine and I never had an issue being seen. I would unhesitatingly recommend Dr. mason to anyone experiencing orthopedic problems. He is the best.
Looked forward to getting relief from the pain in my butt...but required an MRI.
