Great trail, pretty views.
Too much rain this year, so water was covering the trail. Can't wait to get back out there to do some fishing.
Easy, hidden access to good Creek. Nice fly fishing spot. We pull the tubes out here after the rapids. We floated down from Keep Loudoun Beautiful Park.
Took my pup there so she could play in the water and she had a great time! We played right around a bend so she could play where the current was much slower and I made sure not to let her go out too far, but the faster currents may have just been due to all the rain recently as the people who recommended it said nothing about the fast currents. It's a bit buggy down there so make sure you have some sort of repellent!
Secluded gem! Tucked away in the neighborhood makes it easy to drive right past the entrance. The parking lot is very small, only 5-6 spots. It’s usually not very busy and offers a port a potty next to the entrance. The area is quiet and the trails are great with one portion being sandwiched between Goose Creek and an old/empty canal which went to Aldie at one point in time. There are a lot of deer which like to hang out right off of the trail. The trails are well maintained. If you walk south you’ll be treated to the sound of running water when Goose Creek is high after rain storms when the water is moving very quickly. There is great place to launch kayaks on a flat beach like area. Or if you’re kayaking up Goose Creek this is the perfect place to stop for a rest or to use the bathroom. Very scenic and just a short distance from where Goose Creek converges with the Potomac River. Even though this area is surrounded by houses it’s still very picturesque and full of nature. You could do some great bird watching here as we saw everything from several different types of large cranes to blue birds and cardinals.
