  We have put two children through Montessori (2&1/2 years - lower elementary). We started with the Boyd school which was purchased by LePort. We have since also experienced public and parochial elementary. By far, we prefer the Montessori method of education that "follows the child" and allows children to pursue learning in a more individual and stimulating way. Truly, I believe this is the only method of education (other than perhaps homeschooling) that really does individualize education. A traditional classroom (public and parochial) doesn't even come close.
  
  LePort is a true Montessori school and in the elementary (our experience with LePort) the administrators honor the knowledge and passion of the teacher, providing support and the backbone for a thriving classroom.
  
  Another personal experience: our son left Montessori for one year, for first grade. In the year away, when we asked about school or his day, we'd get answers like "school is ok" and "I don't know what we did today" to this year, back in Montessori where he's ready to go in the morning and rushing me out the door so he can get to school early and start his work. And at the end of the day now, he fully shares details of his day taking care of the animals in the class and learning about their environment; his "epic math problem"; his individual research projects or what he learned in cooking or mandarin class.
  
  I highly recommend taking the time to schedule a visit to the school, a talk with the administrators and teachers and observation of a classroom. Montessori is one of the best parenting decisions we've made for our children and we are excited for what is to come for our son at LePort.

  I have nothing but great things to say about the school. We checked out every single daycare that responded to us within a 5 mile radius and decided against all of them, mostly because they weren't the quality we expected. That's when we came across LePort. What we are most happy with is the high quality of teachers, the program and life lessons they have going on, and the regular updates on the progress of our two children. Though a tad on the pricey side, every penny is worth it.

  I can say that this Montessori was the best choice we made for our children’s education. At such a young age, both our children are so eager to go to school and work every day. They bring their lessons home with a sense of accomplishment. The teachers and the Montessori environment at Leport has been very instrumental in their development.

  LePort is an excellent school. It is full of kind, caring, and compassionate teachers, caregivers, and administrators. The curriculum, interactions, and guidance my children have received have helped them become kind hearted, thoughtful, focused, and inquisitive.

  We have an infant in Miss Katherine's Infant Room and we LOVE IT. She is so thoughtful and deliberate, giving the children great care while introducing them to the Montessori principles. We could not have asked for a better experience for our child, and are very lucky to have found Miss Katherine and the community at LePort Aldie!
