  Ampara is the absolute best. Highly skilled and accomplished with the ability to translate concepts effectively for beginners. She is an excellent trainer whether you are just starting out or riding at the highest level.

  Love my lessons with Ampara. You will never find a more dedicated or knowledgeable rider or trainer. She works with all types and disciplines of riders no matter what their goals/level of riding is. I have been lucky to watched her create an extensive and educational program with the most supportive learning environment for her students. You cannot go wrong working with her.

  If you are looking for horseback riding lessons (dressage, jumping) or horse boarding convenient to Washington, DC and the Virginia suburbs, I recommend A Training Vision. The proprietor, Ampara Visser, is an excellent trainer and horsewoman. She is a hands-on instructor who is able to help riders of all levels improve and move up the levels. She has well-trained lesson horses and is gifted at matching each rider with the horse that will bring out their best abilities. Private and semi-private lessons are available in the indoor or outdoor arenas. The barn is clean and organized, and the students and boarders are kind and encouraging of one another.

  I have ridden horses for several decades and Ampara Visser is the most patient and knowledgeable horseback riding instructor I've ever worked with. Her main expertise is dressage (all the way through Grand Prix!), but she's also a great instructor for hunter-jumpers and eventers. Her lesson horses are wonderful, too! Very friendly barn for everyone from serious competitors to casual riders who want quality instruction. The lovely farm has a cross-country jump course, an outdoor arena, an outdoor grass dressage ring, accessible riding trials, and an indoor arena too, which is essential for bad weather days. My daughter and I have ridden with Ampara for several years and we very highly recommend her!

  I rode with Ampara for quite a few years and I highly recommend her to anyone who would like to better their riding. She understands the horse and how it moves and how a rider can influence that movement. She is an excellent rider and teacher. Her facilities are top notch. Quite lovely on those quiet fall mornings -- true horse country.
