“My experience was extremely positive. I think it should be noted that this salon is in the basement of Mrs. Aisha's home. That in no way takes away from it however. I mention it only because I didn't know that fact until after I arrived. However, the salon is extremely professional, clean, and comfortable. Ms. Aisha is very caring and welcoming and takes the time to understand what you want. I appreciate that she was honest enough to tell me the style I originally wanted would not be good for my hair at this time as my edges are thin and she suggested a great alternative. I ended up getting knotless braids for the first time, which was virtually painless and not heavy at all (unlike box braids) and it looks great! My husband likes it too. I highly recommend this salon.”

“The washers and dryer work great. The only thing I didn’t like is that you have to purchase a laundry card and pre-load money onto it. For a one-time use of the machines, this can be hard because it means you may end up with money on the card you never use. That being said, we loaded $11 onto the card (it’s an initial $1, then you have to choose between amounts of $1, $5, $10, $20) and were able to do all the laundry we needed. With that we did two small loads of wash, and threw everything into the big dryers. You get 25 minutes of drying free, which was all we needed to have everything be done! The staff is cheerful and was incredible kind and helpful for me as I tried to figure out how it all worked! “I've been shopping here since I was about 13. Almost 30 years. It's still the same. Even with a new look. Good clothes at a good price. But, my experience there this last time was above and beyond. I had bought a pair of shoes for a wedding. And, having cash on me. I paid cash. And put the receipt in my wallet. Just in case I needed to return them. Which, I did need to. So. I proceed to the service desk. And produce the receipt from my wallet. To my disbelief. Most of the ink on the purchase number had been rubbed away from the friction in my wallet. But, despite the very limited information I could them. The manager there at the time, Sang. Was able to look it up and provide me with my refund. She went above and beyond. And thats how customer service is supposed to be. I will keep coming back here. Just because of this one interaction. And recommend anyone else as well.”

She responds promptly to appointment requests and keeps me informed if she encounters traffic or other delays in getting to my house. During the pandemic she has been careful to mask up and take other precautions. As always she sanitizes her instruments and hands before and after each appointment. All of us have had to adjust to the pandemic and, while I used Nickie before 2020, I have found her "traveling stylist" services to be even more convenient and perfect for my needs.”
