I came across the review posted four weeks prior to mine while trying to find Dr. Kepple's contact information, and felt compelled to share my experience because I wholeheartedly disagree with everything that reviewer claimed.
I saw Dr. Kepple for approximately one year in Pittsburgh – first twice a week, then once a week, and finally once every other week, based on my need for her services. Only one other psychologist I have ever seen prior to Dr. Kepple has ever shown me the same genuine compassion and empathy that she has. The first time I started seeing her, I was an uninsured, full-time student with a minimum-wage part-time job, and she was incredibly understanding and accommodating of my circumstances. This gave me the first impression that she was driven by the potential to help a patient in need, and that alone – not money. This remained true as I got to know her over the course of my treatment with her.
Dr. Kepple listened to me deeply and has never, in my experience, interjected any of her personal biases. I have never felt judged by her – on the contrary, she made me feel completely comfortable and safe opening up to her, about absolutely anything – which I have never been comfortable with doing before. I always felt one hundred percent heard and cared about in all of my sessions with Dr. Kepple. Her insight/advice was always very actionable, and I have learned so much – about myself, human nature, and the general field of psychology/psychotherapy – from my sessions with her. I came out of my treatment a completely new person and will never forget the positive impact she has had on me.
I believe it is difficult to find a "good" psychologist/psychiatrist who is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also *truly* takes the time to understand their patients – and create an individualized, appropriate treatment plan (therapy and medication) – as much as Dr. Kepple does, and to this day, when I am talking to friends about therapy, I use her as an example of what the standard should be.
