Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Virginia Beach, VA

I have been a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church for over 25 years. I have seen the worst and the best this church has to offer. My wife and I are so pleased we remained members of Emmanuel. We now have a very vibrant Pastor that is leading our church. We have an active family that works and prayers together. All are welcome here to join in our service and receive holy communion. We do have strong outreach programs feeding the less fortunate and providing meals to the homeless. If you want to feel what it is like to attend a family church that is warm and welcoming, then please attend one of our Sunday services or join us on Facebook or You Tube. Our Pastor brings meaningful insight to his Gospel sermons, we have a very talented music director and a robust choir that adds to the enjoyment of our service. Children are very involved in our church service. All are welcome. Please take the time to attend our Sunday service, you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I are relatively new in the Hampton Roads region, and since we were previous members of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, we primarily looked for a Missouri Synod Church. Then the pandemic happened, and in 2021, we started watching Sunday Services online from the various Lutheran Churches in our area, Missouri Synod and ELCA, including Emmanuel’s. What first attracted me to Emmanuel was the Christ-centered message Pastor Anders gave – a message of love and related to the world we live in. Since then, we became members, we love the friendliness of all the members and even though Emmanuel is a relatively small congregation the hearts of its members are huge and generous. Emmanuel is involved in various community endeavors as well as international Lutheran charity programs. If you are looking for a church that is Christ-centered, shares Jesus message of love and forgiveness, please consider Emmanuel.

I have been a member of Emmanuel for over 11 years. At a time when my husband was dying, my former church was closing and my then Pastor had moved out of state, I felt lost in the world. Pastor Aaron stepped in to shepherd my husband and myself. When it came time for the funeral and reception, Emmanuel embraced us with open arms. They did not know me. They did not know my husband. But they were there with the love of Christ and Holy Spirit. When it came time for me to search for a new church, I went no further than Emmanuel and it is a choice I have never regretted. Being a cradle Lutheran, I knew what I was looking for. The faith of Emmanuel‘s members is shown every time I enter the doors. They have become my family. I am at peace.

A welcoming church for all!! ELC is a congregation with a family-like atmosphere. All are welcome for worship and communion and the children's sermon and programming is fantastic. Pastor Anders never fails to bring positive energy and thoughtful/relevant sermons every week. My family has been looking for a church like this for many years and we finally found the perfect fit!

I have found a home in attending here. As a young, married person, this church has been solace in trying times. The PEOPLE are what make this church, and Pastor Anders is the icing on the cake. Online reviews are one thing, but attending this church and meeting those who worship here are another. Give Emmanuel a chance, you won’t regret it.
