We needed our daughter’s birth certificate and were down to the wire before a trip (1 month out). Couldn’t make an appointment at DMV because of the pandemic, they were booked for the next 4 months.
After reading some reviews on google, called this number and got a call back from Angela. Had our daughter’s birth certificate within a week of the first call. Angela was so pleasant to deal with and extremely helpful! Would definitely recommend this office, specifically for Angela!!
We tried to get my daughters birth certificate from Richmond and we waited 2 months and never received it. So I looked this number up and read the review from another person and gave it a shot. I called and left a message and Angela called me back before the end of the day. I gave her the information that she asked for and she called me the next day, took my payment, and told me that it would be in the mail the following day. It took 8 days to get my daughters birth certificate from out of state. I am very pleased with Angela’s professionalism and kind attitude. Thank you!
We tried to get my son's birth certificate via the Richmond office (mail-in) during COVID and:
- Were told after waiting 2 months that it was probably in processing so we had to just wait longer
- Were told after waiting 3 months that the record did not exist and it "probably got lost in the mail"
- Were told after finally getting an update after 4 months, where status said it was essentially "in the mail" that we needed to wait longer than the 7-10 days for it to arrive (it has now been another month)...
Finally gave up and called this Virginia Beach office. My phone call was returned promptly, and after explaining what happened and our hesitancy in doing another "mail in" (as well as uncertainty/confusion regarding the DMV appointment option) Angela was SUPER helpful in getting us down the right path to an expedited Birth Certificate right away. I only wish I had called sooner. Thank you so much for your professionalism, promptness, and assistance during this time.
I came in this morning with my two toddlers to obtain a birth certificate and I just wanted to say how fantastic the experience and service was. My normal experience at any public office has been long wait times, redundant forms and staff that can't help me even if they want to. This was the exact opposite and such a breath of fresh air. Especially with little kids in tow, I was so grateful that Monica helped me promptly with a single page simple form, directed me clearly to the payment office around the hall and had my papers ready when I got back. I might have just been lucky on timing to avoid lines, but all-around, great job. The cashier that took payment was quite friendly and prompt as well. Thanks for restoring my hope of streamlined public administration!
