  I moved into Acqua senior apartments Saturday, May 15 and the elevator quit working. Another tenant was moving in also. I think we over worked the elevator. Firehouse 10 was prompt and very courteous and even rode the elevator to reassure us it was ok. About 3 days later a senior on the 4th floor set off the alarm again due to smoke in their apartment and Firehouse 10 responded immediately. Thankyou so much for all you do and contend with.

  Yesterday, my family buried my grandfather, Eldon Swartzentruber, who helped found Kempsville Volunteer Fire Department, Station 9, and served as Assistant Chief and Chief for 20 years. During the funeral procession along Providence Road, the firefighters at Station 10 stood at attention in front of their station in heavy rain, giving honor and respect to a man who for many years had served in the line of duty, bidding him to be at ease. Thank you to the men and women of Station 10, for honoring my grandfather.

  Engine #10 was in our neighborhood and stop to retrieve our American Flag from the ground in the aftermath of Dorian. They even brought it to our door. Our son-in-law Steve Stamos works at station #10 and even tho he's not on shift today, we appericate all that serve station #10 everyday. This military family thanks you for you service and commitment to our community. #10 ROCKS !!!
