Stratford Hall is very historic well-maintained treasure worth the trip.
What they are a couple years ago, it was pretty awesome.
Excellent place for a day trip to learn some history. Docent gave a nice walking tour. Good lunch to be had on the grounds or in montross at angelos or art of coffee.

Enjoy some light refreshments in the Visitor Center while listening to the seasonal contemporary music of Kathy Mapp. After crossing the lighted bridge, stop by the bonfire and make a "Christmastide wish" by tossing a holly sprig into fire.
