“Mr. Food Mart is your typical neighborhood corner store but on steroids. They offer basic grocery items like milk, bread, canned and dry goods, snacks, sodas, beer, etc... You can also find basic health and first aid items, very basic automotive items, tobacco products, etc... Of course they sell all the Virginia lottery tickets and a good variety of scratch-off lottery games as well. So far I've described your average neighborhood corner store but Mr. Food Mart is so much more. You can pay your utility or cell phone bill here, you can cash a check or buy a money order. You can pick up a bag of ice or exchange the propane tank for your gas grill then pump your tire full of air. They also have a deli counter where you can purchase deli meats and cheeses by weight and have them sliced to your preference. Then there's the food. They have a full line of delicious cold and hot subs as well some pretty decent pizza by the slice or get the whole pie. There are no tables or chairs inside or out so it's strictly takeout. To place your order just come on in or call ahead to have it ready when you get there. Hot dogs, hot sausage, bbq - you can get it here and it's pretty darn good. They have a nice commercial pizza oven and they know how to use it. Honestly, their subs are pretty amazing. Try the Club or Fat Boy or or Italian subs. Personally, my favorite is the Philly Cheesesteak. There's plenty of juicy and tender meat seasoned just right on a beautifully toasted roll. It really is outstanding. All their subs come ATW (all the way) with lettuce, tomato, mayo and oil & vinegar. The parking lot is mostly adequate but can get pretty crowded, fortunately there are nearby businesses with additional parking so it's never really an issue. Be aware this is a neighborhood store so small groups of people do sometimes congregate in front of the store to hang out for a few minutes but it's never a problem.”

“I love coming here. Im a customer that comes in on a daily bases. The manager Don is very sweet. They always greet me in the mornings! Sometimes its not as fast of service but they try to get fast service when its humanly possible. Only rude customers seem to be reviewing bc i know a lot of customers are rude at this store. I also would like to say that your employee Justin is awesome!! He makes sure he greets you, is always ready at checkout, makes fresh food and fresh coffee at dinner or a little past dinner. Very nice customer service and you should take good care of him!! Thank You!!”

“I have never experienced much trouble before with filling a prescription, as a cancer patient, I take my health EXTREMELY serious and I always am anxious to get my prescriptions filled quickly. Tonight I needed a medication URGENTLY, and I was having a problem with my insurance companies covering my prescription. The pharmacy technician Dana was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! Not only did she give me some helpful tips to try and contact my insurance company, she was doing this all the while trying to serve many other customers. It was a very long and tedious process and after 2 hours of me trying to resolve things with my insurance company and not getting anywhere fast, she called on my behalf and long story short, my medication that would have cost me $2,000 ended up costing me NOTHING! A huge shout-out to Dana for not only being patient with me but for going above and beyond. Thank you Dana, from the bottom of my heart!”

“This place is one of few in the Ballston neighborhood. I lived across the street in the AVA building and it was truly a "convenient" store when I had late night cravings, or even felt the urge to treat the leasing staff at AVA. The cashiers are nice enough as a gas station attendant. One even lived in near my hometown in Florida, so we connected off of that. These poor reviews do not reflect the foot traffic / convenience of this gas station. Overall, this gas station is a good / safe one to use.”

“I visited this store yesterday, 5-1-20... I had my 14 year old grandson go in for me. All I needed was a 15pk of Pepsi, and told my grandson to get whatever he wanted and sent him in with my card. The young lady on duty at the time, around 5pm., carried the Pepsi 15pk out to my car for him. I am so impressed with the new management and employees. Sooooooo... much better than before!! I want to give two fist bumps to this young lady for going beyond her obligations. For being an excellent example of what 7-11 should always be about..Going that extra step to make your customers feel important. I wish I knew her name so I could personally thank her. With that being said.. I am a 34 yr 7-11 associate, I Have been a 7-11 manager for 20+ years. I now work for a franchisee in Hopewell.for the past 8 yrs. This young lady deserves recognition, and the new manager also. Great Job guys!!!!”

“"Left station without pumping gas, I don't know if ayone has experienced this before, but this is my second experience." The first time was the BP @ corner of Hull right beside Haynes furniture now it's a SUNOCO. Its still the same owner management and discourteous employees and services as before. "This was the worst experienced I've encounter being a consumer I was closed to being jailed for the way I was treated." Shell @ 6600 Midlothian was the best! I was welcomed and had no problem with getting my gas. "The employees were the most courteous and pleasant customer service I've encountered @ a filling station before and I'll recommend this SHELL to anyone looking for 5 STAR quality gas and service.”

“Jeff came by about two weeks ago to give us an estimate. We didn't commit right away as we had other estimates lined up. The AquaShield quote was by far the best so we had him back to discuss shingle color and a projected date. He arrived on May 25th to drop off some supplies (in the rain) and told me that his crew would be there the next morning. The guys were working before 7am and had the roof completed and most of the clean-up done by 5pm. The crew members were all polite and hard working! Jeff hung around to make sure all the nails were picked up and the yard looked like it did before the work started. I can't recommend Jeff and AquaShield enough!”
