“Went to Duck Thru and wanted to place an order for hot food. It was 5 minutes til closing of the hot food service. I was ok with that wand just was prepared to get something else. That’s when Mr. Andy said hey you were here before 7 so place an order at the kiosk and I did. There was an African American young lady who had an issue with him preparing food for us because it was 7pm. Mind you I’m African American as well. Mr. Andy needs to be recognized for his outstanding customer service and patience. The others need just a little more training on customer service. Thank you Andy you ROCK. “Passing through the area between photo-shoots, and came upon this gem. Initially we went inside to stock up on snacks, but discovered the kitchen and cute 'lil dining area in the back and we just had to stop and sit a spell! The cook, Madison, turned on the tv for us and we watched Gunsmoke while she prepared our food. And the food? Par excellence! We complimented Madison on her skills, but she wouldn't hear any of it. Well Madison, you DO bring it with your skill-sets and we will be back to try your steak! If you're in the area, you owe it to yourself to give Flat Rock Country Store a try! The people are kind and helpful, and the food is awesome. :-) In my travels across the country as a photographer, I've come to realize that when you enter a store like this with weathered wooden floors, you're usually in for a special time. Flat Rock Country Store is no exception!”

“Solid gas station experience. The people that work the registers are talented and friendly. They are usually short staffed but they’ve made every effort to not let that affect them. Gas prices tend to be on par with out in town or a couple cents cheaper. Liquor is provided at the package store so there should be no negatives put on them since that’s a Virginia/the south thing.”
